String Sextet in D minor "Souvenir de Florence", Op. 70, composed in 1890 by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893). The work was titled "Souvenir de Florence" because the composer sketched one of the work's principal themes while visiting Florence, Italy.
Children of all ages will be delighted by our string quartet performance! This engaging user-friendly 50-minute show has been a rousing success the past five years. We are happy to be able to give passersby of all ages and nationalities the opportunity to experience the beauty and intimacy of chamber music. New pop songs will be added to our mix of Mozart, the classics, the Beatles, Argentine tangos, Brazilian sambas and Italian opera arias.
