In 2012 we commissioned Al Torrente to compose “Manisero,” based on a Cuban folk song. The audience loved it so much that we commissioned a new string quintet, "Hospital Suite." This will be a world premiere in Wausau. Returning also is good friend, cellist and wife of the composer, Nancy Torrente, playing the second cello part. Al and Nancy were so taken with the beauty of Wausau that they are driving again from New York to participate. Along with the Torrente is the Boccherini String Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 12, #2.
